The trailer is now screwed directly to gary's bike.  Oh, and with 6 cable ties!

And then....

Since the last blog post...6 punctures, 1 new cassette, 1 new chain, complete break of gary's trailer fixing, 12 cable ties, 3 falls (everyone fine), one fantastic gite, no 3g.

Big skies, small hills

Lovely cycling day. Picture cycling through french countryside with high clouds and rolling hills and you have our day.  Finished in gisors by 4:30. 

I suspect this picture will show liz cycling on her side.  you'll have to twist your head as I can't edit the photo on the phone!  If you do you'll see a smile :-)

Simple luxuries

Rain stopped.  10 miles on a track that we would never build or maintain in the uk.  Sun peeked out.  Arrived at hotel..woman met us and showed us where to store the bikes.  Eating a 9 bar.  3rd in line for a shower of course but hard to complain!

The attached picture shows the track from dieppe.  All 35 miles was like this.

Rain

Started when we set off.  Hasn't stopped.  Kids doing well.  Track excellent.  Currently having lunch I'm neufchatel en brey.  Probably lovely.  10 miles to go to hotel in forges les eaux.  No irony in the name!

Cycling?

Yesterday.  In a wood.  On a path.  Not a cycle path. Not on the avenue vertes.  But on gary's route.

Quick update before the ferry journey

All gone well today.  If I ever get a good internet connection I'll upload more pictures from yesterday.  On ferry now...newhaven to dieppe.  we're all in a mobile home tonight!

Long day including packing and driving to london. all done.  Food going in.  we'll see if a child wants to write a blog post in the morning.

One day to go and neither family is remotely ready.  But Euan has asked to blog - so this is now set up in readiness for anyone who wants to follow the exploits.  We will have guest bloggers this year from the Lyness family.
